Laurent Spring

Managing Consultant

  • With 30+ years experience in Upstream Oil & Gas, spanning from subsurface technical evaluation to managing plant operations and maintenance via project management, Laurent’s experience has been with both Major (Shell) and Mid-sized (Addax, Petrogas) International Oil Companies, and major National Oil Companies (KOC, ADNOC).
  • He started in Shell in 1993 in Exploration, but progressively moved to the field development function and front-end project management of several mega-projects in Oman and Nigeria. To gain more hands-on experience in engineering, he left Shell for Addax Petroleum Gabon as Operations and Maintenance Manager. From this experience, Laurent’s focus was to ensure that much more rigour was applied in defining and approving concepts, designs and functionalities in projects to avoid operational under-performance and asset integrity/process safety issues.
  • Laurent re-joined Shell in 2012 as Front-end Project Manager, leading mega-projects in Iraq, Kazakhstan and Kuwait. In 2021, he was ADNOC’s corporate discipline head of Conceptual Development in the Group Projects and Engineering department.
