Bert is a passionate heat exchanger specialist with 40+ years of experience in Upstream, LNG, Refinery, Chemical and Heat Exchanger Technology design, licensing, start-up, operation, research & development and customer unit support. His specific areas of expertise are heat exchanger selection, thermal design, tube vibration, LNG liquifaction/gasification.
Bert reached his level of expertise whilst working for Badger/Raytheon, Kelvion, Fluor and McDermott Lummus Heat Transfer. He founded Heat Transfer ABC B.V. in 2006 and has performed RCA’s for Petro & Chemical industries. Heat Transfer ABC B.V. is HTRI member and has software licenses of hiTran tube inserts and Helixchanger technologies. During his career he has designed world’s largest Helifin (180MW) and kettles (6m.*40m.) for LNG plants. Bert has provided training to more than 1000 engineers worldwide representing more than 250 companies.
In 2022, Bert joined Petrogenium as Principal Consultant Heat Exchangers.
