With over 30 years experience in the O&G industry, Stuart is a pragmatic development professional who has worked globally on a wide variety of assets and projects initially in subsurface technical evaluation and leadership roles before specialising in upstream development management, integration and value assurance. Experience has mostly been globally with Shell but also in secondment with national oil companies in Oman and Malaysia.

A geoscientist by background, Stuart has a strong track record of leading diverse teams to deliver major Upstream Projects in the Front End. His career began with a wide variety of roles in subsurface technical evaluation and leadership before he specialised in upstream development management and integration. He then gained rich experience in providing independent Project Investment Appraisals through integrated Value Assurance Reviews, across a wide spectrum of opportunities for Shell globally.

Stuart’s instincts and interests are towards achieving high quality investment decisions, ensuring that proposals are value-focused and account sufficiently for technical and non-technical risks. He has the ability to engage effectively with leaders and stakeholders at all levels across the industry, while also remaining a strong team player.
