Susan enjoyed 34 years of progressively challenging roles in technical and manufacturing leadership working in the downstream energy industry. She worked for Shell Oil Company for 32 years and for PBF Energy for 2 years. Susan is passionate about continuous improvement, leader development, and effective governance and assurance structures to drive optimization and sustainable strategic delivery.

Susan began her career as a refinery Process Engineer. She subsequently moved into leadership roles in facility Logistics and Light Oil Product strategies. Susan progressed into Manufacturing Excellence Leadership wherein she developed and implemented effective leadership governance and assurance work processes, including the implementation of a best practice Site Internal Assurance program and development of associated corporate standards. She was then a Capital Portfolio and Business Opportunity Manager where she oversaw front end scope development for capital projects, lead portfolio prioritization and also created Growth Capital programs. Susan then assured technical team and operational support stability as the Process Engineering and Control Systems Engineering Manager through a facility sale and transition in ownership. Susan finished her career as the Health, Safety, Security and Environmental Manager of the Martinez, California refinery where she lead the delivery of a successful HSSE program with strong personal and process safety performance and sustained regulatory compliance. She enjoys “closing” big projects, never shies away from a challenge and truly believes in people and their ability to deliver results.
